Plagiarism Policy
JISEAT INTERNATIONAL PLAGIARISM POLICY
Our Online Services are a network of general audience, are not targeted to children, and do not knowingly collect personal information from children less than 13 years of age.
As part of an ongoing effort to adopt “best practices” among professional certification organizations, JISEAT’s Certification Board has adopted a plagiarism policy that includes a stringent penalty component. International Journal of Digital Application & Contemporary Research (JISEAT) publishes articles that emphasize research, development and application within the fields of engineering, science and technology. All manuscripts are pre-reviewed by the editor, and if appropriate, sent for blind peer review. Contributions must be original, not previously or simultaneously published elsewhere, and are critically reviewed before they are published. Papers, which must be written in English, should have sound grammar and proper terminologies. The JISEAT International Certification Board has adopted the following “Plagiarism Policy” for use in the evaluation of each technical paper that is submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for seeking their paper to be published in JISEAT.
- Plagiarism is considered any wording used in the technical paper that is not the author’s own words, and not quoted with a bibliography entry.
- Plagiarism is unethical and nothing less than stealing someone else's intellectual property. There is absolutely no excuse or tolerance for plagiarism.
- JISEAT uses Smallseotools, VIPER and Plagiarism Detector to check for plagiarism. This robust and well respected software is similar to that used by universities and other professional associations to assure the integrity of their submission process. JISEAT must protect itself from any litigation that may arise from publishing work that fails to meet the standards against plagiarism, as set by the Certification Board.
- If over 10 percent of the technical paper is reported by the software to be plagiarized, the technical paper will be REJECTED and penalties imposed.
- Plagiarism will be the VERY FIRST PROCEDURAL CHECK. If a paper fails the plagiarism test, it is not sent to a grader or reviewer.
- All papers will be submitted for plagiarism check using the CheckForPlagiarism subscription. NO OTHER SOFTWARE WILL BE CONSIDERED. Authors MAY NOT submit their papers to another plagiarism checking vendor to contest the results of the software JISEAT has sanctioned.
- Technical papers with less than 10 percent reported plagiarism will continue to the next step in the grading process.
- If over 10 percent of the technical paper is reported to contain plagiarism, it will be totally rejected. The report will be sent to the author, along with a letter from JISEAT Certification Manager, addressing the found plagiarism and notifying the candidate of the imposed penalty and the appeals process.
